Why do people gossip?

Obviously everyone has a different reason for gossiping. I have found that people gossip for one of the following reasons:To fill in the void in conversation - Lack of general knowledge - To belong to a group  - Inferiority Complex - Taking revenge on people who constantly put you down - Unmasking and showing the real side of people -  Show the real side of people who get undeserved praise -  To get attention – gossip sells!

Memoirs vs. Autobiographies

the memoir is usually a more personal piece of writing than a biography or autobiography, which tends to give a "whole picture" of the person or family about whom the book is written. On the other hand, a memoir tends to have more of a very important theme than most autobiographies; thus, it gives a "partial picture." For example, an autobiography about me would probably highlight my life from birth to the present, paying special attention to major moments in my development. However, a memoir might only focus on those stories about me that led to my life.Thus, my memoir would be more of a story than a biography.
